Automatic double-head spooling for large cables
Packaging line specialists PS Costruzioni Meccaniche has recently designed and manufactured an automatic double head spooling line – the PS 1000/22-B – in order to satisfy a growing demand from cable companies in need of a spooling solution for large flat and round cables.
This new line can spool cables having a minimum diameter of 6mm (0.23") up to a maximum diameter of 22mm (0.86") and it can be used with several spool sizes from a minimum of 450mm (17.73") up to a maximum of 1000mm (39.40"). The PS 1000/22-B’s maximum linear speed is 400m per minute (1,312 feet per minute), according to the cable type.
The company says: “Since both solid and delicate cables should be wound in spools, the best solution is to use two dancers (one for solid cables and one for delicate ones).
In doing so, the pull on the cable can be perfectly checked.”
PS 1000/22-B, like all PS Costruzioni Meccaniche’s packaging lines, has a modular structure. There are some basic units and some additional ones, which can be added according to the customers’ requirements.
