TECHNOLOGY NEWS:

Redesigned enamelling ovens reduce power consumption by 20%

MWM – Magnet Wire Machinery – has completely redesigned its entire magnet wire machinery range.

Taking account of ever-increasing energy and labour costs, the new machines are designed to help MWM’s customers control variable costs and reduce machine downtimes. For the baking chamber MWM has increased the insulation properties by reducing heat bridges and hot spots. Heat exchangers refeed the exhaust energy before the oven heater, to avoid the wire cooling too much. A newly laid out recirculation system achieves remarkably low process temperatures and thus causes further reduction of power dissipation.

Improvements are also made in the cooling unit. The cooling process has been optimized to keep temperature reduction to a minimum.

Overall the new MWM oven design achieves balanced management of the heat-up and cool-down processes.

A further useful aspect is the noticeably reduced maintenance effort. All main-tenance relevant parts have been intelligent designed so they are easily accessible and relatively quick to remove (for example, the baking chamber insertion segments or catalyst).
