New generation lubricant Mastersol 1027
Founded in 1875, Batoyle Freedom Group is one of the UK’s largest independent lubricant manufacturing companies. The company has launched a new generation wire drawing lubricant under the brand name Mastersol 1027. This is a semi-synthetic lubricant, engineered to meet the demanding requirements of the non-ferrous wire drawing and cable industry.

Improved productivity and reduced downtime whilst optimizing die life are real benefits of Mastersol 1027.”
Extensive research and development at the Batoyle Freedom Group’s laboratory led to the development of Mastersol 1027 which recently joined the internationally established Mastersol range of lubricants specifically formulated to meet the needs of the non-ferrous wire drawing and cable industry.
The lubricant combines a bio-stable formula, excellent sliding and low foam properties to provide a complete multi-faceted lubricant solution. Mastersol 1027 proved in trials that by combining such properties into one lubricant it dramatically reduced the risk of wire breakage, increased the longevity of the emulsion life whilst at the same time presented a much cleaner product. The result further demonstrates that by using Mastersol 1027 a user will increase productivity by reducing downtime. As a bio stable lubricant, Mastersol 1027 has a natural resistance to bacterial growth in machine storage tanks.
Along with the general health and safety benefits this brings, the bio-stability also contributes to long-term system cleanliness.
When field-tested on Tandem Lines with Category 6 and Category 7 communication cables and in-line enamelling applications Mastersol 1027 proved highly successful at ensuring wire cleanliness and enhancing the surface finish of the wire. Mastersol 1027 is also suitable for addition to wire drawing annealer systems where it assisted spooling and protected the wire from oxidation.
Ideal for drawing copper and copper alloys, Mastersol 1027 can be used in conjunction with the multi-wire drawing process, on Tandem Lines and in wire drawing annealer systems, providing the wire processor with a multi-purpose and versatile lubricant. It is available in 205 litre drums or 1,000 litre containers.
