Hot-melt coating yarn for cable
Gotex has launched a fibreglass roving yarn with hot-melt coating, an alternative product that turns into a compact material, similar to a tube, once it gets in touch with the cable.
This yarn is heated just before the cable enters the extruder’s crosshead. Shortly afterwards the coating on the yarn becomes fixed forming a tubular shape that surrounds the cable and ensures an excellent reinforcement inside the cable. It also optimizes contact with the outer jacket.
This special coating allows the yarn to be melted at low temperatures.
The hot-melt additive fuses fast and evenly. Fibreglass roving yarns with hot-melt are available in several sizes, mainly 408, 600, 785, 1200 and 2400.
