Three-axis laser measurement from Zumbach

This new measuring head from Zumbach features three integrated measurement axes. Zumbach says: “Conventional two axis instruments with laser or CCD can only provide approximate values for minimum OD, maximum OD and ovality. The mean value is influenced by the orientation of the product ovality within the measuring field. The TRIO concept solves such problems.”

The advantages of the new measuring head are:

three synchronized measurement axes on one single plane
ultra compact head
reliable detection of out-of-round condition, regardless of the orientation of the product ovality
detects any deviation from roundness of oval and out-of-round with polygonal shape (multi-lobe)
yields highly accurate mean value, regardless of the orientation of the product ovality
computes accurate values of circumference and cross section
increased measurement accuracy and reliability
integrated fault detector offers three times higher detection certainty and sensitivity than two axis models

Compatible interfaces are available as follows: J standard for USYS, RS-232/-422/-485, Profibus DP and Ethernet.
