TECHNOLOGY NEWS:
Environmentally-sound cleaning machine from Fismet
Wire cleaning is necessary to totally remove lubricants used in wire-drawing, in order to prepare a clean surface before it goes for annealing in the furnace. Fismet Industriale has brought out a new machine after investing in much research for solutions that take account of concerns about the environment and workers' health and safety.
The new cleaning machine fits in to a manufacturing line without slowing down the wire speed and, consequently, has no adverse impact on production line efficiency. It allows continuous wire cleaning at high speed but it is also possible to change the wire speed. The Fismet machine is able to clean from 1 to 12 (or more) wires depending on the output level of the wire-drawing line. It is completely automatic and works 24 hour per day in concert with other wire production machinery.
The cleaning cycle has three phases: washing in hot detergent solution activated by an ultrasonic system; rinsing in filtered and recycled hot water activated by an ultrasonic system; hot air drying. This cycle produces a bright wire surface without any imperfections or lubricant residuals or spots. The Fismet wire cleaning machine is closed cycle equipment without any liquid or gaseous dispersion. It is equipped with two accessory tanks for constantly filtering and recycling the water solution in order to remove lubricant, oil and organic/inorganic particle traces from the cleaning bath. These tanks are connected with the washing and rinsing sections.
Fismet explains: "The excellent cleaning performance of our machine depends on the coexistence of some conditions: the machine's structure; its cleaning cycle; working temperature; chemical detergents; but, most of all, it depends on our chosen ultrasonic system (frequency, power, position and setting related with liquid density). Furthermore our machine is environmentally safe – it reduces water consumption, uses of ecologically-compatible chemical detergents and also reduces the quantity of waste for disposal."
