Longitudinal tape applicator with Automatic change-over
Dynamex Corporation is an established innovator of equipment for the wire and cable sectors. The company is well known around the world for their high speed Single-Twist cable machines, bunchers, driven pay-off units, taping systems and ancillary equipment.
The company has recently announced its latest unique innovation - a fully automatic longitudinal tape applicator, which changes over from empty to full pads or spools whilst the line is running at full speed.
This newly patented system, enables the running tape pad/spool at “low level” signal to automatically change over, and splice the tape end- to- end at full line speed, which to-date has been considered as unattainable, for a machine of this size and within its price range.
The tape pay-off heads are fully driven, ensuring that the tape has a constant tension during the running process, including at the point of change-over. No operator intervention is necessary for the tape splicing, only to change the empty pads/spools. Line speeds of up to 450 metres/min. (1,500 FPM) can be attained, and it can be operated with a whole range of taping materials such as tissue, kraft paper, water swellable, mylar or aluminium type tapes.
