Scapa introduces new compounds
Following increased investment in both capacity and technical facilities at its UK plant in Manchester, UK, Scapa Polymerics, a manufacturer of global tapes and compounds, has recently introduced its new Xli710 compound, a silane cross-linking version of the company’s halogen-free, fire-retardant, low-smoke and fume technology. Developed for the insulation of low-voltage cables, this latest addition to the range meets the stringent demands of specification BS7211. The company has also developed additions to the ABX® water-swellable range of cable wrapping tapes and yarns: the WSC290 semi-conductive and WSD290 insulative series have been developed to meet the high-tensile strength requirements for high-speed, helical wrapping applications for power cables.
