Precious metal wires in all dimensions

With over 140 years experience in the production of products made of precious metals, Ögussa Gold- und Silberscheideanstalt GmbH, Austria, specialises in modern industrial use of precious metals. The ISO 9000:2000 certified company provides wires made of precious metals, including silver, gold, platinum, palladium and their alloys, as well as nickel wires. This portfolio of precious wires is available in all desired dimensions and tolerances, especially in diameters ranging from 30µm to 1.00mm. The Austrian company is particularly vigilant regarding the composition of the alloy, its hardness, tensile strength, elongation, and surface structure as these constraints play a decisive part in the product’s final application.

Ögussa offers a very thin wire made of fine silver, Silverwool, used mostly as a catalyst. The company’s portfolio also includes thermocouple wires of platinum and rhodium, that can be delivered ex-stock in 0.30, 0.35, 0.45, 0.50mm Ø as S, R and B types, class 1 and 2 (type B: class 2 and 3). Additional diameters are available upon request. Other particular products include nets made of silver and silver alloys. They are used as catalyst in the production of formaldehyde, and are designed for laboratories and science & research. Furthermore, Ögussa offers a range of pure nickel wires, also available as shaped wires, and suitable for particular applications.

The company’s modern melting, drawing and annealing equipment guarantee reproducible and constant top qualities. Ögussa’s own recycling department guarantees a quick and competent re-using of precious metals, as well as a shortened tying-up of precious metals.
