| During September 2004, SETIC � Gauder Group organized a week at their premises, in Roanne, France, to demonstrate their latest machines for the production of top quality LAN cable (UTP / FTP / SSTP) Cat. 5, 5 E, 6, 6E, 7 and even 8 (up to 1.2 GHz). 45 delegates from major international LAN cable producers attended the event and saw the following machines being demonstrated under production conditions.
High speed �Quali2Twist� assembling line for cat 6, 7, 8 LAN cable
This line produces all types of LAN cable UTP and FTP as well as SSTP from Cat. 5 to Cat. 8 (up to 1.2 Ghz). Cat. 6 (Foam PE) cable was manufactured in the presence of the visitors and was immediately tested on the take-up drum - without jacket - with the full SETIC testing equipment. Impedance, Next and attenuation were checked by frequency analyzer.
This high-performance and competitive line allows production speeds about three times the capacity of a conventional single twist laying-up line. FTP Cat. 6 cable has been produced at 150 m/min.
The same high quality cable and consistency can be reached as on a normal single twist machine. In comparison to the standard double twist process, there are no cable geometry modifications after the assembling point. Impedance is very stable and NEXT level is extremely low, max. 250 Mhz. In addition, this new equipment reduces floor space area (one line instead of three), increases productivity and efficiency of the customer plants.
High speed �Triple twist� pairing line for cat 6, 7, 8
The Patented high-speed �Triple twist� pairing line, which is 50% more productive than a conventional twinner, was also demonstrated. This line produces very high quality cable from Cat 5 to Cat 8. Production has been attained at 6000 TPM.
With 100 triple twist twinners already sold, SETIC improves its position as first class LAN cable machine supplier. The company is providing the market�s highest equipment performances: Triple twist pairing process (instead of Double twist) and Double twist laying-up capacity for cat. 6/7 (instead of Single twist).
