| Providing the wire and cable industry with diameter measuring, controlling and testing equipment, Sikora AG, Germany, has recently introduced X-RAY 2000, a system specifically designed for use in insulating and jacketing lines. The X-RAY 2000 allows to reduce material over-consumption, and to increase the productivity of the line at high-quality level. The applied X-ray technology makes the system operation as easy as a diameter gauge and provides continuous precise measurement and control values for wall-thickness and eccentricity, as well as diameter.
The system is available as a stand-alone gauge-head with Profibus or RS485 interface, or in combination with the company�s processor unit ECOCONTROL 2000, which provides numerical and graphical display of the measuring values, as well as trend and statistical data. The 100mm standard system is developed for products ranging from 10 to 80 mm, and alternative systems are available for products up to 130mm. In addition, a special model for range of 20 to 200mm is available.
