| Specialising in the design and manufacturing of reeling (spooling) or coiling, tubing and extruded profiles, with traverse winding and pay-off equipment, Progressive Machine Co Inc., USA, has introduced its new winding system, model S 135, designed for optical fibres, fine wires and micro-tubing. This spooler can be operated from either a standing or sitting position and places such functions as threading, loading and unloading easily within arms reach to maximise efficiency.
The conveniently placed control panel offers the digital entry of winding parameters such as package width and material length to optimise accuracy. A state-of-the-art stepper motor provides pitch control with digital read-out in 0.001 increments. Speed and control are managed either ultrasonically with a non-contact loop detector for minimal tension (10 to 75g) or with the standard STC (dancer system). The S 135 can be configured to incorporate a driven pay-off as a fully integrated table top rewinding system.
