The company has recently released a cold rolling mill designed for manufacturing of approximately round concrete reinforcing wires and ribbed wires that feature deformed rib lines on the surface to provide mechanical anchorage in concrete. Various designs of deformations can be produced as in hot-rolled wire rods. This cold rolling method is more economical and gives a wide array of production and desired strength, with less labour cost. A complete plant consists of a hydraulically operated pay-off stand, a wire drawing block to give the wire a clean bright finish, an on-line rolling ribbing cassette at high-speed (4 to 12m/sec), making it possible to manufacture the deformed strips on the wire. The finished wire is wounded on heavy-duty spooling machine, when the required weight or length of ribbed wire is achieved. The spooling machine stops and the operator can feed the strapping through the provided slots and tension it with conventional equipment. An output of up to 5 tonnes per hour can be achieved with a single operator and one handling person. The finished product can be made into welded wire mesh, which can be used in straightening as rebar and for welded wire mesh. The machine can produce both plain and ribbed bars by the use of rollers and dies.
