| AlphaGary Corp, USA, has recently introduced two new halogen-free compounds, Sentra HF 8110 MD and Sentra HF 8553, that will significantly improve processing efficiency for European and global data cable manufacturers. These two compounds have been engineered for very minimal die dross (die drool), allowing for higher processing speeds. The improved die dross performance of these new compounds will give cable makers a major processing advantage, providing enhanced extrusion speeds, commented Mr Robert N. Gingue, AlphaGary managing director. This increased efficiency will save manufacturers time and money.
Both compounds have been proven and tested according to BRE burn (flame) testing requirements. The Sentra HF 8110 MD meets the IEC 60332-1 specification and the Sentra HF 8553 meets the IEC 60332-3C specification, both used for data cable applications. BRE is the UK's leading centre of expertise on buildings, construction, energy, environment, fire and risk. Through its sister company, BRE Certification, they provide certification to UK, European and international standards, as well as CE marking and product approval.
AlphaGary Corp. (USA), AlphaGary Ltd (UK), and AlphaGary Canada Ltd (Canada), operate four production facilities world-wide to develop and manufacture speciality compounds, ranging from flexible PVC and PVC elastomer alloys to styrenic-based and olefinic-based elastomers, olefins, nylon alloys, polyurethane blends and alloys and crosslinkable polyethylene.
