| Berk-Tek, USA, a Nexans company and a leading manufacturer of network copper and fibre optic cable products, has recently introduced a complete line of flame-retardant, broadband coaxial cable products. Berk-Tek broadband coaxial cables are ideal for use in video distribution, CATV, MATV, video-conferencing, DSS and TVRO applications. The company offers two types of cables:
- Quad Shield for use in high-noise, or low-emission environments;
- Drop Cable, a more cost-effective alternative for less demanding electrical noise and emission environments.
The new broadband cables are manufactured to meet standards and exceed industry standards for attenuation, SRL (Structural Return Loss) and impedance stability giving users interference-free installations. The addition of coaxial cables to our product line will give users another reason to solely specify Berk-Tek cable products for their premise cabling needs, commented Dan Kennefick, Berk-Tek copper products business manager. Berk-Tek broadband Quad Shield and Drop coaxial cables are available in CMP (plenum) and CM (general purpose) rated versions. The styles available include RG-6, RG-59, and RG-11.
In addition, Berk-Tek has launched GUARDmark, a new high-performance shielded cable series ideal for applications demanding the most advanced cable performance. GUARDmark FTP (Foil Twisted Pair) designs increase signal isolation, which prevents contaminant noise from entring the cabling systems and disrupting network performance. The GUARDmark-6 is the first cable of its kind to receive ETL verification to the ANSI TIA-EIA 568-B.2-1 Category 6 standard. The GUARDmark series also includes premium Category 5e and standard Category 5e cables, also verified by ITS ETL SEMKO.
