| Every cable manufacturer who has tried a precise measurement of a flat cable by a diameter gauge has soon recognised that this is a difficult or even impossible task. Even the smallest turn of the cable results in errors in the measurement. Even with complex guiding of the flat cable this problem is resolved with a limited success. To meet this task, Sikora AG has introduced its new and unique triple-axis diameter gauge head with F/R option, which is suitable for flat and round cables and guarantees a reliable measurement of the height and width of flat cables, independently of a possible twist and independently of the position in the measuring field.
The measuring head comes with a measuring field of 30mm and 60mm and is suitable for products with a width of 25 to 50mm. The measuring head is also suitable for round cables with a maximum diameter of 25 and 50mm. The gauge head automatically detects whether the product to be measured is round or flat, and there is no need to turn the gauge head depending on the type of product. The gauge head features an interesting design as the measuring axis are positioned in such a way that there is no risk for any contamination. The gauge is user-friendly and it is possible to swivel the gauge head out of the measuring field when needed for production set up or other extrusion line activities. As with all gauge heads of the Sikora�s LASER 2000 series, the head features various interfaces for the connection to a line control and for diagnostic interface.
