| Techna International Ltd, UK, offers a wide range of ancillary equipment, the SEC series, designed and suitable for many aspects of wire and cable production. Comprising seven models ranging from 0.6 to 38mm �, the series ccomprises a range of air-wipes for the removal of coolants/liquids from the surface of wires and cables in high-speed wire drawing, continuous annealers or extrusion lines. Drying tunnels are also available. Lubricant Applicators, which can be installed in any die-holder, are also available for drawing mechanically descaled low and high-carbon steel content wires.
The company also offers its EAL series of electronic digital readout breaking elongation testers, that has been designed according to UNE 21-011074 for the maximum elongation tests and non-destructive elongation above a pre-set value for soft wires over the range from 0.07 to 2.5mm �. Also included in Techna�s portfolio is the PR series of rotary die holders, that are suitable for any type of dry drawing machine. The PR series increases die life by improved lubrication and minimising �tunnelling� in lubricants, with integral soap mixer and direct water cooling.
Pneumatic detachable spools and tilting units for easy lifting and tilting of reels/spools are also available together with the LPM-40 motorised pointing machine, which is especially designed for pointing small or medium size wires, coils or bars. The machine consists of one set of grooved rolls with each groove varying in section so that, when the wire is placed into the groove and the roll revolution coincides with the maximum groove section, only then will the material enter freely.
