| Linn High Therm GmbH, Germany, has recently introduced a new high-frequency generator 5kW/1.3MHz that features two reciprocal working HF/RF-transformers and induction coils and particularly suitable for soldering and heating of small filigree work-pieces with minimum dimensions of 0.1mm. The high-frequency involved with the low penetration depth in the material makes it possible to heat thin wires continuously under effective energy utilisation, soldering of precious and non-precious jewellery and spectacle frames, for hardening of small parts or for exact heating of larger parts.
An important application is the hardening of glue (varnished): glass/metal, metal/metal, and metal/plastics. Heating processes can be pre-programmed into 3 power stages, and the temperature control is possible through pyrometer or thermocouple The smaller dimensions and the smaller weight of the HF/RF-heads permit an integration into production lines and robot connection without any problems. The HF/RF-heads with the induction coil can be adjusted in 3 axis.
