| KA-BE-MA Engineering GmbH & Co. KG, Germany, has recently launched the first fully digitally controlled wire preheater on the market, model digitherm VG 16-3-250, suitable for copper, aluminium and iron cross sections ranging from 0.35 to 6mm2. The unit is pre-set according to line direction and can be altered by the customer. The wire is inductively carried out with variable induction frequencies, guaranteeing a constant tempering of the wire. The induction frequency increases up to 650Hz when the line speed is increasing. The line speed is sensed via an incremental encoder and production speeds up to 2,500m/min can be reached a temperature of up to 300C. Wire break detection is fitted to all units. All the pulleys are enclosed and the door is electrically locked. The new digitherm VG 16-3-250 also features bi-directional contact interface, analogous set point setting, Profi-Bus and MPI Bus.
KA-BE-MA Engineering also provides the wire and cable industry with a wide array of equipment, including extrusion lines for cores , cables and optical fibres; take-up and pay-off units for spools ranging from 250 to 2,400mm flange ; automatic double spoolers for spools up to 1,250mm ; simple and double over flange pay-off units for spools up to 800mm ; cooling troughs; accumulators and control storage dancers; horizontal and vertical taping machines; concentric tape lappers; rewinding machines for optical fibres; high-speed single twist machines as well as multiple pay-off stands for optical fibres.
