| VXI Technology Inc., USA, a global supplier of high-density modular test solutions, has announced the expansion of its high density SMIPII� (Switch Modularity & Interface Platform) offering with the release of the SMP6905 power splitter/combiner. Because RF test applications require far more than basic signal routing, the SMP6905 will address some of these needs in an extremely compact footprint.
The SMP6905 combines six 2-way 0� 10MHz - 1GHz powers splitters/combiners in a compact SMIPII module. When used as a splitter, the SMP6905 delivers two outputs (times six per module) of equal amplitude with 0� phase relationship between the two output signals. It exhibits excellent phase balance and VSWR performance in a compact footprint, and has a matched power rating of 1Watt. High-isolation between each output and low insertion loss are also key features. This module is an ideal addition to the SMIPII line, and can be mixed and matched with other modules to become the heart of a powerful RF signal switching system. The SMP6905 is a double-wide SMIPII� module, therefore, it can be easily combined with other SMIPII� switch modules to provide the building blocks for a very powerful RF test system. �This product is ideally suited for applications requiring manipulation of RF signals with known loss and VSWR characteristics, such as vectorial signal addition or subtraction, splitting a single input signal into multiple points, or combining multiple inputs to a single output port�, commented Mr Paul Dhillon of VXI Technology.
