| Specialising in the manufacture of a wide-range of industrial products, including wire and cable cutters, wire & cable strippers, and wire twisters, The Eraser Company, USA, has recently added to its wide portfolio a new range of wire twisters that twist wires up to 6.35mm � or two stranded wires (1.30mm �). Twisting is completed without damaging the conductors. The twisters incorporate a speed control and a counter for a consistent number of clockwise or counter-clockwise twists. The units are electric-foot-pedal activated. Custom twisting heads can be quoted for unique applications. The units are quick to set up and easy to use.
In addition, the company has recently launched a new range of bench thermal wire strippers, model BTS-1, that strips thermoplastic insulation such as nylon, rubber, Teflon and vinyl from solid and stranded wires from 12.7 to 0.127mm �. Optional die hole element sets are available for unique applications. Hand or an optional electrical foot pedal actuates the elements. The unit strips lengths up to 38.1mm � and a right angle adapter kit is available for infinite strip lengths. The element depth is adjustable and can be locked into position to ensure repeatability. With its adjustable heat control and self-contained fume extraction system, the BST-1 is a suitable unit for safe, precise stripping applications.
Furthermore, Eraser has released its model RT2S, designed to strip film-type insulation from wires sizing 0.33 to 0.03mm �. The fibre glass stripping wheels quickly remove insulation without contaminating or flattening the conductors. The stripping wheel design allows close -to-coil body wire stripping. Multiple wires may be processed at one time. The strip length stop can be adjusted to produce consistent strip lengths. The RT2S is compact, safe, and easy to use, and ruggedly built for production use.
