| The Norvegian company Conoptica has recently introduced a new technology, branded �Flexible Caliper Supervising� that has full teach-in capabilities. This technology optically measures all kind of shaped rods, wires and dies, tubes, plugs, and many other precision tools and products. The system hardware (ElectroOptical Frames) is designed to measure small diameter tools and covers a total measurement range from 0.01 to 56mm.
The company also introduced two new ElectroOptical Frames for quick production control of diameter and ovality of drawing dies. The measurement time is 6 to 8 seconds for the best accuracy, and down to a couple of seconds for screening tests. This results in shorter measurement time and higher accuracy, replacing the traditional method of pulling a wire and then measure the wire diameter. Conoptica�s portfolio now covers applications from fast on-the-floor die and/or wire diameter production control systems to advanced automatic die feeding and sorting systems starting. Any of the new Electro-Optical Frames CU4, CU5, and CU10 can be used together with the new automatic feeding and sorting system. CU4 and CU5 can even be upgraded at a later stage, giving flexibility with regard to investment.
