| Friedrich Petig GmbH, Germany, manufacturer of cable shears, has recently introduced the new Hydrocut steel cutter, that has been designed to cut coils or bars of up to 60mm � maximum, whereby the maximum strength of the material to be cut can amount to 160kg/mm2.
The new steel cutter operates with an oil pressure of 550 bar. Its light weight and compact design make it possible to use it in many branches of industry. It is driven by mobile high-pressure pump, which can be fitted out so that a maximum of 5 shears can be connected. When reinforcing bars and steel mesh have to be cut out in the open, i.e. on building sites, it can be driven by a pump powered by an engine. The new Hydrocut produces a cutting force of 170 to 1,750kN
