| Specialising in the design and manufacture of intermediate drawing of ferrous materials, the Italian company SAMP Steel has recently introduced its new series of drawing machines branded TSI 400. The design of straight through drawing with tilted axles, avoids stresses from bending, making the machine particularly suitable to draw both high and low-carbon ferrous wires, stainless steel as well as non-ferrous hard alloys.
The compact and extremely sturdy mechanical construction, together with a very efficient cooling process of the capstans that are based on the exclusive TURBOFLOW system, allows the machine to achieve high-performances. A line speed of up to 35m/sec can be reached for final diameters 0.5 1.0mm. The machine is supplied with directly water-cooled die-holders, rotating or fixed type, adjustable in every direction. For the production of polished wire, the last blocks can be equipped with special die-holders to clean the wire surface. The capstans are made from tempered and ground forged steel, with a precise smooth finish and can be supplied with a ceramic or hard metal surface coating on the pulling ring surface.
The ecological supply includes inner ducts for vacuum dust removal, an internal lighting system, and two electrical outlets to connect butt-welding and pointing machines. The electrical controls are of the latest generation and include the use of vectorial inverters, controlled by a Profibus net. This system not only simplifies all the connections between cabinet and machine, but also allows a rapid and precise control of the drawing capstans.
