| The German company Zwick has recently developed a new generation of testing machines to study the torsional influence on materials and components. Featuring simplest operation, highest flexibility and high accuracy, the new testing machine can be used in almost all major fields of application of torsion testing such as plastics and metallic materials, fixture systems, joining elements, products of medical engineering, screws, compound materials, etc.
The high inherent stability of the machine bed guarantees highest rigidity for the entire torque range of the testing machine, allowing the user to measure the angle of rotation very accurately. An axially movable machine slide with torque load cell and integrated overload protection is mounted on two extremely precise linear guide systems. Different specimen grips are also available and can hold specimens up to a grip-to-grip separation of 680mm and a maximum diameter of 200mm. High-rotating speeds up to maximum of 180 reverses per minute and the high-resolution of the angle measurement will even meet highest demands of torsion testing.
The optional static load application unit (maximum 500N) for constant compressive and tensile forces during test can be quickly and easily adapted to the torsion testing machine. In addition, tools such as 4-jaw chuck, universal face plates with 90 grooves for the mounting of customer-owned gripping devices, quick-action chuck and connecting flanges for the mounting of Zwick standard tools round off the portfolio. Furthermore, the easy-operating test software testXpert allows many different test variants to be carried out.
