Neutralising pay-off system
Thermoplastics Engineering Corporation (TEC), USA, has recently released it newest neutralising pay-off system, that can hold 24", 30" or 36" reels thanks to the design of each frame that features 2 rotating cradle pay-offs set-up in a 45 orientation.

Utilising a direct AC drive system, each rotor is independently controlled up to 250rpm, while each individual pay-off is driven by a AC inverter drive system with feedback from its own catenary arm-style dancer with pneumatic tensioning. The P.I.D. dancer position control is used to ensure a quick response for a minimal movement of the dancer, ensuring a steady tension control. All dancers, that can be oriented for 90 turns from the main frame or in a "straight back" configuration, are assembled to allow matching of the fleeting angle to the closing die. Each unit is a heavy formed and welded steel construction for minimal vibration and noise. Sliding doors are interlocked to prevent the operation while open. Base frame includes locking heavy-duty casters and floor mounts for movement from line to line. Each unit includes an overhead hoist system for easy loading and unloading of reels. The operational controls on each unit consist of individual start/stop pushbuttons and a 4 line MMI display for adjustment of neutralisation and rotation direction. Final location and configuration of control panel is customised-based according to end-users requirements.

The American company also manufactures multiple station yoke style neutralisers that are available in 4, 6 or 8-bay style and for typically 24" or 30" reel . Also available are individual flyer arm style neutralisers (up to 42" reel ) which feature rotational speeds up to 800rpm.
