| Previously supplying single components such as diameter gauges and spark testers, the German company Sikora AG become a systems supplier, introducing, the INLINE 2000 series. These are matched to specific applications and include the company�s processor and display unit ECOCONTROL 2000 with specifically fitted software packages. All measuring systems of the INLINE 2000 series are equipped with a diagnostic interface, whereby diagnostic information can be directly called up with the ECOCONTROL 2000 from the gauge head. An FFT-analysis checks the measuring values of all devices connected to an ECOCONTROL and detects periodical changes, for example with the diameter. At an early stage, weaknesses in the production line can be detected and fixed before they cause problems during the production of the cable.
ECOCONTROL 2000 allows operators to visualise the most important measuring values together with a trend display, statistical data and FFT-analysis. Included in the unit is a diameter and wall-thickness control. In addition to its enhanced graphical interface, the unit features a library (product table) in which all relevant data - sorted according to the cable size - is stored and available on request. Three access levels are also available at the display and control unit, in order to ensure that only authorised persons get access to the system. Furthermore, with ECOCONTROL 2000, trend and statistical data are easily stored on a hard disk or a network drive in text or excel format. This data can be accessed via a standard Ethernet interface.
In addition, Sikora provides the industry with the LASER 2100XY diameter gauge head that is designed for products of up to 50mm � (respective up to 200mm � have also found great acceptance). The LASER 2100XY has also been recently redesigned for product diameters of up to 100mm. Furthermore, Sikora AG offers its latest DC spark tester, model SPARK 2020-DC, which has been specially designed for testing telephone wires and mini coaxial cables. This new unit is equipped with a bead-chain electrode and provides a test voltage of 7.5kV. The new model meets the BS 5099 specification.
