| Decalub's unique DCCD acid-free rod descaling technology permits 0.85 - 0.88%C green rod to be drawn directly, in-line, without wet pre-coating, at a rod entry speed of 3.3m/s (660ft/min). The process, operating at "zero energy consumption", enables to draw high-tensile wire at the same or higher speed than that practised with acid pickled and traditionally pre-coated rod.
DCCD processed H/C rod is currently drawn at 16 - 18m/s (3,200 - 3,600ft/min). The process is recommended for the most demanding applications, including spring wire, rope, bead, CO2 welding, etc. There is no drawing speed limitation in L/C applications, even from the rusty rod which is now cleaned in-line in successive passes to white metal at unlimited rod entry speed. |
