| Degussa AG, Germany, has announced that Dr. Joachim Leluschko has taken the position of new head of the company�s High-Performance Polymers Business Unit. He replaces Dr. Rainer Feldmann, who retired after 32 years in the company. A certified engineer, Mr Leluschko started his career in 1984 at R�hm GmbH & Co. KG, where he directed the performance plastics business unit in the plexiglas division from 1991 to 1993. He then went on to head R�hm Austria in Vienna until 1995. In 1996, Leluschko was initiator of RohMax Additives GmbH which started out as a joint-venture by R�hm and the US company Rohm & Haas, and is today integrated into Degussa as a business line and fully owned subsidiary of R�hm. Mr Leluschko headed this business line until his departure for the High-Performance Polymers Business Unit.
Degussa�s High-Performance Polymers Business Unit develops customised components and innovative systems and supplies the necessary speciality polyamides and polyesters. From these high-performance polymer compounds, customers from sectors as diverse as the automotive industry, communication, electrical and medical technology, machine and equipment construction, and sports produce components meeting the highest standards for form and durability. The fluidized bed powders by High-Performance Polymers are used for highly durable wire coating, while hot-melt adhesives are applied in the textile industry and for the production of deflection yokes in the electronic industry.
