| DSM Desotech, USA, a world leader in the development of UV-curable materials, has announced the appointments of Mr Steve Hartig as president and Mr Patrick Niels as vice-president of fibre optic materials.
Mr Hartig joined DSM Desotech in 1999 as vice-pesident of marketing. He previously served as vice-president of sales, marketing and R&D; for DSM Engineering Plastics, USA. Mr Hartig holds a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan. He succeeds Mr Jan Paul de Vries, who will assume the position of business group director, DSM Composite Resins, in Switzerland. Mr Patrick Niels succeeds Mr Hartig as vice-president of fibre optic materials. Previously business manager polyesters for DSM Coating Resins in the Netherlands, Mr Niels joined DSM in 1998, when DSM acquired Gist-Brocades. Mr Niels hold a BBA degree from Nijenrode, the Netherlands School of Business, and an MBA from Emory University in Atlanta, USA
