New project engineer at QED
QED Wire Lines, Canada, has expanded its operations by recently appointing Mr Michael Crowle to the position of project engineer. Mr Crowle will be involved in a number of projects aimed at further developing the company's equipment line. He will also have responsibilities in the commissioning of new equipment. Michael Crowle has a BSc. Eng. from McGill University in Montreal and experience in the metal processing industry from his Masters at the University of Victoria. The new appointment is a result of QED's continued success in the steel wire industry.

With 25 years of practical experience and specialising in the design and manufacture of equipment for heat-treating, cleaning and coating of steel wire, QED Wire Lines provides the wire industry with custom-made and built high-speed lines specially designed for galvanising, Galfan, patenting, annealing, tyre cord and bead as well as oil tempering processes. Combining innovative design concepts, the company has developed a range of products and equipment that is both technologically advanced and ruggedly dependable, such as QEDs FastHeat fluidbed furnaces that feature a new fuel injection system which has done away with the need for distribution plenums and porous bases. A new interlaced air-gas manifold provides excellent fluidisation uniformity and combustion stability within a low maintenance framework.
