CORPORATE NEWS:
Niehoff buys Hacoba bobbin wire winding machinery rights
Maschinenfabrik Niehoff and Hacoba Spultechnik – both of Germany – have reached an agreement whereby Niehoff acquires all design and manufacturing rights to build and market Hacoba bobbin wire winding machines, including accessories.
In the last few years, these two companies have cooperated to sell and service Hacoba’s wire winding equipment. Niehoff has manufactured and supplied all kinds of machines and equipment for non-ferrous wire drawing for several decades.
With the introduction of the new generation 16- and 24-carrier rotary braiding machines, the wire processing product range was completed in the year 2002. With the purchase of this product range, Niehoff closes a gap in its production program.
The braiding bobbins wound on Hacoba wire rewinding machines (without length variations and high parallelism in the wire) create an efficient braiding process (high braiding speeds at a very low wire break ratio) and also give a high braiding quality.
The business acquired from Hacoba includes the two- and four-spindle automatic wire rewinding machines. These winders are equipped with the latest AC drive technology, stepping motor controlled traverse and also with individual spindle drive on request.
A four-spindle automatic wire rewinding machine for continuous and unattended operation is capable of feeding 25 to 30 braiding machines. The spool change is carried out without operator inter-vention. Both wire ends are cut and the ends are automatically secured using the Snap Ring system.
Also included in the transaction is the two-spindle, semi-automatic winder designed for manual bobbin change. In this configuration, at the end of a filling cycle, the line stops allowing the operator to
cut the wires and manually secure the ends to the bobbin.
Driven and non-driven pay-off systems
for single and multiwires also belong to
the acquired product range. These are selected according to the take-up process in the drawing line.
In future these products will be marketed as ‘Niehoff system Hacoba’. The equipment will be built, and tested to
meet Niehoff quality standards, by well-trained technicians and specialists at Niehoff in Schwabach.
In future, Niehoff will ensure the supply
of spare parts and service for current Hacoba customers in the wire and cable industry. Niehoff Group subsidiaries, as well as sales and service organisations,
in North America, Brazil, Japan, China, Singapore and India will also be responsible for Hacoba’s existing wire and cable customers in their respective territories
and markets.
