Elka Kabeli Implements €1.05m SAP System
Elka Kabeli, Croatia, a leading producer of high-quality cables in Croatia and the East-European region, has modernised its business by implementing the integrated business information system SAP in November 2003. SAP d.o.o. and b4b d.o.o. were in charge of the incorporating the SAP solution into Elka Kabeli’s business system. The value of the project is €1.05m, and as such, it represents the largest investment of Elka kabeli so far.
The scopes of the SAP’s applications are improvement and standardisation of the business processes in logistics and finances, and easier financial reporting within world business standards.
Elka kabeli now becomes a club member joining 35 world companies in the cable industry sector (Group ICSUG – International R/3 Cable Solution User Group) already using the SAP cable solution, such as Pirelli, Andrew, LAPP Cables and Ericsson.
Included in the modernisation of the business processes are some €50.000 worth of software for design i.e. the cable construction – CABLE BUILDER. The new software enables quicker and simpler cable production, and will also result in a faster response to the requests of the buyers.
