South Africa strengthens WCIC Membership
At their meeting held in Cleveland, USA, during the WAI “WireExpo” and Convention last June, the WCIC welcomed the additional associate membership of the SAWA - South African Wire Association. At the same meeting, unanimous approval by all members was given to tangibly support the “Interwire 2005” in Atlanta USA, “wire Singapore 2005” and “wire Prague 05” - the Technical Conference which is to be jointly organised by WCIC members.
The WCIC membership is confined to Associations related to the wire, cable and wire product industries. Each Association member has to prove a membership of companies and personnel who are actively engaged in the manufacture and supply of materials and products or machinery and services related to this industry sector. The next meeting of the Council will be held during “wire China 2004” in Shanghai, P.R China, when it is anticipated associate membership will be further increased, bringing total corporate WCIC membership representation closer to 2,500 in over sixty countries.
The Council’s main objectives are to collectively liase and encourage unified support for those wire and cable industry meetings and events, which will attract and provide the best benefits to the corporations and personnel represented by the Council membership. Increasing focus on delegate and visitor attendances at those events, which the Council considers of high-quality and importance is a major factor in the combined efforts of all Council members.
