Nextrom announces its first quarter order intake and sales
Nextrom Holding SA, Switzerland, one of the world's premier suppliers of manufacturing solutions and services to the fibre optic industries, has recently announced that new orders, amounting to CHF 6.3 million, have been recorded during the first quarter 2004 (CHF 1.6 million in first quarter 2003). The performance in order intake has been according to earlier expectations. Gross sales during the first quarter of 2004 amounted to CHF 3.6 million (CHF 7.1 million in first quarter 2003). The backlog as per 31 March 2004 amounted to CHF 11.2 million (CHF 5.2 million as per 31 March 2003).
Nextrom supplies a complete range of products and services to the fibre optic industries, such as MCVD systems, glass working lathes, sleeving lathes, drawing towers, high-speed optical fibre ribbons, proof-testing and rewinding systems, colouring lines, advanced fibre colouring coding lines, as well as colouring and proof testing systems. Furthermore, Nextrom offers an innovative range of equipment suitable for photonics automation and connectivity. This range comprises preform fabrication equipment, vertical sleeving tube and stretching system, deuterium treatment system, blown fibre system, fibre UV-upcoating system and automatic laser welding unit.
