Wire 2004: exhibitors report improved business conditions

wire Düsseldorf 2004, the world’s largest international exhibition for the wire, cable, fibre optic and wire product industry, closed on April 2nd with very positive results, reporting over 61,000 visitors attending both the wire and tube trade fairs. Through a first report, the 967 exhibitors who attended wire 2004 were extremely satisfied with the new contacts established and the large number of deals concluded. 65% of wire visitors were purchase decision-makers. In addition, trade visitors unanimously praised the excellent line-up of ranges displayed.

Trade visitors to wire came from 72 countries. In addition to the countries traditionally represented, such as China, India or the CIS States, guests from such remote destinations as Peru, Venezuela, Ghana, Chile and Burkina Faso were registered. Mr Wilhelm Niedergöker, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, the organisers of wire/Tube Düsseldorf, commented: “The two trade fairs particularly stand-out for their high participation of foreign nationals. More than half the visitors and over 65% of exhibitors come from outside Germany”.

Visitor interests primarily focused on wire producing and finishing machinery (48%), materials, speciality wires and cables (37%), machines for producing wire products (23%), as well as on process engineering tools (22%). The lion’s share (81%) of visitors to wire 2004 came from industrial sectors. Wire/Tube 2006 will be held concurrently again from 24 to 28 April 2006 in Düsseldorf.
