CORPORATE NEWS:
Most important industrial gathering for ferrous wire in 2004
In the year 2003, China’s national economy sustained its strong momentum with a GDP growth rate of 9.1%, which in turn promotes the rapid development of China’s steel industry. China’s crude steel output also reached 222.34 million tonnes in 2003, increasing by 22.38%. Meanwhile, China’s steel wire and wire products production has been hindered by backward technological equipment. Its product mix and product quality requirement is far from being satisfied. Annually, a certain volume of high-tech content and high value-added products have to be imported to fill the blank domestic market. Adjusting the product mix, upgrading the technological equipment level, developing wire & wire products for special purpose, and improve the production management level to meet both domestic market and overseas market demand has been well reorganized as the development focus of China’s steel wire and wire products industry.
Against this background, the International Wire & Machinery Association (IWMA) and the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) are pleased to announce the forthcoming “China International Ferrous Wire Symposium 2004”, that will take place in September 19-21, 2004 in Shanghai, P.R China. This event will introduce the latest cutting-edge steel wire and wire products production technology, promoting the trade of steel wire and wire products and expanding the application of steel wire and wire products in various sectors. The symposium will be composed of two parts. The first part is the high-ranking discussion and exchange that will take place during September 19-21 in Hua Ting Hotel & Towers, Shanghai. Specially invited speakers will draw a clear picture of the world overall ferrous wire industry. The second part of the Symposium contains technical workshops that will take place during September 22-24 in parallel with “wire China 2004” exhibition in the Shanghai New International Expo Center. This part is open for application by all the exhibitors, ferrous wire producers, technology and equipment suppliers, R&D; institutions and consulting firms hoping to promote their state-of-the-art technologies, operations, products and services, etc.
IWMA has also blocked a limited number of rooms at a very preferential rate in the Hua Ting Hotel & Towers, Shanghai, for the conference delegate during the conference period. Due to the hot season and Formula 1 competition in Shanghai at that same time, hotel rooms will be in extremely short supply.
