Niehoff-Steuler co-operation chalks-up first successes
After the recently signed exclusive co-operation agreement to manufacture lines for the galvanic plating of non-ferrous metal wires (refer to EuroWire N° 32), Maschinenfabrik Niehoff GmbH & Co. KG, Germany, and Steuler Anlagenbau GmbH & Co. KG, Germany, have recently announced that two galvanic wire-plating lines of the WPT series are about to be supplied to their future users. The first line is designed for tin-plating and the second one for silver-plating of copper wires with diameters ranging from 1.0 to 2.6mm.
The WPT lines are jointly built by Niehoff and Steuler in accordance with the “Wire Plating Technology (WPT)” concept. These lines are characterised by minimised consumption of energy, water and chemicals, and by the near 100% use of anode material. The automatic dosing of chemicals and fresh water results in stable operating conditions and constant surface quality. Maschinenfabrik Niehoff GmbH is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of machinery for the wire and cable industry. Steuler Anlagenbau GmbH specialises in the galvanic refinement of wire surfaces.
