OFS to supply fibre optic cable for Egyptian President’s office
OFS, USA, designer, manufacturer and supplier of leading edge fibre optic products, has recently been selected by PrimaComm Systems Integrator, Egypt, to supply LXE-ME central tube armoured steel wire fibre optic cables and accessories to expand and improve the infrastructure of the fibre optic network for the office of the President of Egypt. The LXE-ME cable exceeds the office’s durability and rodent protection requirements. "We selected OFS for this project due to the superior performance of their fiber and cable technology, cost effectiveness of the solution and a history of on-time delivery”, commented Mr Ashraf Fawzy, vice-president and CEO at PrimaComm.
The LXE family of products is designed for the distribution, access and metro markets, where express entry is a common practice. These cables provide excellent optical, mechanical, and environmental performance in compact, reliable designs. The LXE-ME (metallic) outside plant cable design has an overlapped layer of corrugated electrolytically chrome-coated steel armour that surrounds the central tube and has a ripcord under it to ease its removal. The outer sheath jacket is made of high-density polyethylene to provide faster installation and optimum cable core protection in hostile environments.
