Coleman Cable expands portable cord product line
Coleman Cable Inc., USA, a leading manufacturer of wire and cable products for the electrical, industrial, home automation, security, electronic and data communication markets, recently purchased the Royal® brand portable cord product line and related assets from Essex Electric Inc. As part of the acquisition agreement, Coleman Cable will manufacture portable cord for Essex under the Essex brand name.
The purchase of the Royal® brand will enable Coleman Cable to combine Royal®, one of the leading brands for SO cord products, with Coleman Cable’s own leading position in SEO Seoprene® cord products. Together, the Seoprene® and Royal® brand of cord products from Coleman Cable, provide the industry with one source for any and all portable cord applications with products tailored to the specific application. “The addition of the Royal® brand compliments Coleman Cable’s broad line of products, allowing our customers to purchase the majority of their wire and cable needs from one of the industry’s leaders. This strategic alliance with Coleman will support the Essex Electric strategy of becoming the lowest cost, highest service building wire provider. Essex Electric will continue to provide customers with a complete line of highest quality building wire products and services.
