Sikora celebrates its 30th Anniversary
Sikora AG, Germany, who provides the wire and cable industry with diameter measuring, controlling and testing equipment, has recently celebrated its 30th anniversary on November 11, 2003. The company and its regional offices in Peachtree City, USA, Fuzou, P.R China and Vinnitsa, Ukraine were pleased to celebrate this occasion. The success of the company dates back to the invention of the non-contact cable position indicator (sag control) unit known as “The Sikora” still in use on power cable CV-lines world-wide. Mr Harald Sikora, still active in the company today, used the success of this system to launch other products suitable for wire and cable manufacturers.
The range of products today includes the INLINE 2000 series of measurement systems: the LASER 2000 series of diameter gauges, the LUMP series of lump and neckdown detectors, the SPARK series of spark testers, the CAPACITANCE series of capacitance measurement systems, and the non-contact eccentricity and diameter systems: CENTERVIEW 2000 and WANDEXE 2000. The ECOCONTROL 2000 is the company’s integrated process control system that ties all the information from various gauge devices together for controlling a variety of applications in the wire and cable industry. Another important system provided by the company is the X-Ray based measurement system, Sikora’s X-RAY 8000, used by a large number of companies around the world since its launch 10 years ago. This success has led to further implementation of the X-Ray technique in additional areas of need within the market. Today, Sikora offers its new system X-RAY 2000 that provides reliable measurements to jacketing and insulating applications in a revolutionary technique.
