Techint and Danieli join forces on Consteel
Techint and Danieli will pool their experience and worldwide market presence to supply steelmakers with Consteel technology.
Danieli had in recent years decided to enter the field of electric arc furnace (EAF) continuous charging by developing and successfully installing its own equipment and technical solutions.
In the light of these positive results, Danieli came to realise that continuous charging and preheating technology is, in many cases, the best for EAF performance.
With regard to the very strict patent protection of this technology, which would have brought the two companies into a potentially long-lasting and expensive legal dispute, Danieli and Techint have instead decided to pool their efforts and know-ledge in this field with the application of Consteel technology as the only system for the continuous charging and preheating for EAF steelmaking.
Consteel, with its continuous scrap charging and preheating concept, is regarded as the cleanest, most user-friendly and energy efficient solution for today’s improved steelmaking. High productivity and low production cost are the key benefits for Consteel users.
Techint says: “Our proprietary Consteel technology has been chosen with outstanding results by twenty two customers in four different continents with plants ranging from 40 to 300 tonnes per hour liquid steel production.”
Two Danieli furnaces are equipped with their own continuous scrap charging and preheating equipment while another two Danieli furnaces are already equipped with Techint’s Consteel.
