CORPORATE NEWS:

Co-location of competing Malaysian exhibitions

MTA-MetalAsia and its competitor Metaltech Malaysia have agreed to co-locate on an annual basis.

This cooperation between the two shows will create the largest single machine tool, precision engineering and metalworking technology event in Malaysia.

The 2006 MTA-MetalAsia & Metaltech Malaysia will be held from 3–7th May 2006 at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The event is anticipated to bring together more than 1,500 exhibiting companies and attract over 30,000 visitors from across Malaysia’s numerous metalworking sectors.

While the two organisers will embark on joint promotions, publicity and on-site registration and general management, both events will continue to exist as separate entities, with Metaltech owned by Trade-Link Exhibition Services and with MTA-MetalAsia owned by Malaysian Exhibition Services, a member of the Allworld Exhibitions Alliance. MTA-MetalAsia will be held in Halls 1 and of the PWTC and will concentrate on machine tools, precision engineering, metalworking and outsourcing. Metaltech will be located in Halls 3 and 4 and will focus on general machinery and hardware.
