Pourtier equips Chongqing’s power cable plant
Chongqing New Taishan Cable Company is up and running in commercial production of 2,500mm2 Milliken conductors for high voltage power cable up to 500kV. This is in large part due to the successful commissioning by the Gauder Group of a Pourtier rigid stranding line RFS 630-84 bobbins and a drum twister line DTPC 4000 for stranding and armouring.
Edgar Gauder, President of the Gauder Group, and Mr Gu Yu, Gauder’s China Sales Manager, joined some 500 guests from the Chinese power industry to witness the inauguration ceremony of Chongqing Taishan’s new factory. During the ceremony, the machines were in production of 2,000mm2 Milliken cable.
Chongqing New Taishan Cable Company is a joint venture between Shandong Luneng Taishan Company and Chongqing Power Bureau and it employs 1,100 personnel. Since Chonqing city is the closest big industrial city to the Three Gorges Hydro Power Station and because of the central government’s strong support for the power industry, Chongqing Taishan is very confident of strong growth in the coming years.
