CORPORATE NEWS:
Keeping up with Nextrom, introducing Beneq
There has been a welter of announcements concerning Nextrom. To take it from the top, at the company’s annual general meeting Georg Knill was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Nextrom Group with immediate effect.
The meeting also approved the 2004 results and, following the change in the majority shareholding to the Knill Gruppe, accepted the discharge of the previous Board of Directors. Alongside incoming CEO Georg Knill, Nextrom’s former CEO Jouni Heinonen was re-elected to
the new board.
On the same day it was announced that
ten Nextrom employees based in Vantaa, Finland, had successfully bought-out Nextrom Industrialisation Services and launched a new company called Beneq. Nextrom owns 20% of this new company, with the remaining 80% belonging to Beneq’s management and a group of private investors.
Beneq is a manufacturer of industrial equipment for global markets and acts as a business facilitator adding value for high-tech partner companies by converting proven innovations into commercial products. Typically Beneq’s role in the partnership is to provide manufacturing and marketing services for industrial equipment whereas the technology partners provide the needed technology and process know-how. Beneq also handles after-sales service.
Currently, Beneq is addressing the market of industrial equipment for producing functional surfaces with the latest technology, typically using nano size materials. Nanotechnology-related markets are growing fast and it is the hope of Beneq’s management that this will have a knock-on effect for the company as well.
