Atkin Automation to grow EU sales and service network
Having secured the European distribution rights for Taiwanese manufacturer Shung Dar’s range of coil handling equipment late last year, Atkin Automation has already seen strong sales in the first quarter of 2005. The company acknowledges that the agreement with Shung Dar contributed to it winning contracts worth in excess of £720,000.
Critical to continued growth, according to Atkin’s Managing Director Chris Ward, is the establishment of sales and service networks which can work with the metal industry in those countries which joined the EU last year. Atkin Automation has appointed B&B; Industry, based in Kolin in the Czech Republic, as its marketing agent; similarly Bukacek Electro, based in Prerov in Slovakia, has been appointed to undertake the service and support for all Shung Dar and Atkin equipment sold in both countries.
Mr Ward comments: “My recent visits to Eastern Europe have shown me that there is a huge need for reliable, cost-effective metal handling equipment. As well as working closely with our agents in the Czech Republic and Slovakia to help them exceed their sales targets, we shall also be working in countries such as Hungary and Latvia to identify companies to act as agents there.”
