CORPORATE NEWS:
Cleveland to host Interwire 2007
Get the date in your diaries: Interwire 2007 will be held from 7-10th May. And make sure you note the change of venue. Cleveland, Ohio, will fête the great and the good of the wire and cable industry instead of Atlanta, Georgia, which has hosted the event since 1991. Interwire organiser, Wire Association International Inc (WAI), announced the relocation after a round of research and more informal polls within the industry revealed support for a move from officials and exhibitors alike. Both viewed a venue change as “a strategic move designed to grow momentum for the event” according to a WAI statement. Steve Fetteroll, Executive Director of WAI, noted: “The change of venue is something we expect will impart a fresh energy to the show by engaging industry leaders from related markets in the Midwest region, which is a location that has already proven successful for other WAI-sponsored activities.” The International Exposition Center (I-X Center) in Cleveland is naturally delighted at the prospect of hosting an event which is currently ranked among Tradeshow Week’s top 200 largest tradeshows in the US. Center President Kevin Scheiferstein reflected: “It will not only showcase the latest technologies and developments in the wire and cable industries, but the city of Cleveland and Northeast Ohio as well. Our central location to America’s industrial core and rallying round our industry strengths made Cleveland the prime location for this major show.”
