| Alstom has recently chosen Nexans as principal supplier of cables for both energy and telecommunications. The value of this 2-year framework contract could amount to 24 million Euros by 2004. The cables Nexans is to supply are intended for Alstom�s transport, naval construction, and energy production and distribution activities, fields in which it has become a world leader. �Being part of Alstom�s selected panel of priority suppliers is an honour for us, proving that the quality of Nexans� products is appreciated by its most demanding customers�, commented Mr Yvon Raak, President of Nexans energy division. �This new contract encourages us to continue our efforts in research and development, service improvement and cost reduction�, Mr Raak added.
Nexans and Alstom Marine Saint-Nazaire (France) have more than 10 years co-operative experience in the �just-in-time� supply of cables for naval construction. Their units in Lyon and Saint-Nazaire have become the pilot units in this partnership.
