Pan-European carrier deploys metro infrastructure from ADVA
ADVA Optical Networking, Germany, has recently announced that pan-European carriers carrier LambdaNet Communications has deployed ADVAs Fibre Service Platform (FSP) products in metro core network infrastructure in five German cities. The FSP 2000 and 3000 are marketed and sold to LambdaNet under the Siemens WaveLine label by Siemens IC Networks. LambdaNet today operates an optical transmission and IP-network throughout Europe, which currently measures 22,000km and connects more than 100 cities in eleven countries. During the latter half of 2002, the carriers carrier installed approximately 40 STM-4 and STM-16 links in point-to-point and linear add/drop configurations in five German cities. Utilising Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing technology, this metro network infrastructure has enabled LambdaNet to deploy important new services for its carrier and enterprise customers. Additional deployments are targeted for other European cities over the next several years.

ADVA Optical Networking is a leading global provider of optical networking solutions for rapid and cost-effective provisioning of high-speed data, storage, voice, and video services in the metropolitan area.
