Sprint launches Gigabit Ethernet services in Las Vegas
Sprint, USA, a global communications company serving more than 26 million business and residential customers in over 70 countries, has recently introduced Sprint Ethernet ServicesSM in Las Vegas, offering businesses the increased bandwidth needed to support the convergence of IP, data, video and multicast applications across multiple business locations. Sprint Ethernet ServicesSM are offered at 10Mbit/s, 100Mbit/s and Gigabit Ethernet (1,000Mbit/s) speeds, allowing customers to mix speeds by location and application. Sprint also ensures the reliability of business networks by providing several Sprint Managed NetworkSM Services options and 24X7 service management and monitoring.

Sprint teamed with Nortel Networks, Canada, to launch Sprint Ethernet Services in Las Vegas. Sprint deployed Nortel Networks Passport� 8600 Routing Switch, a key component of Nortel Networks Optical Ethernet portfolio, positioning it to deliver reliable carrier-class solutions designed to meet the networking needs of businesses. In March 2002, Sprint and Nortel Networks announced that they joined forces to combine the network and managed services expertise of Sprint with the voice and data equipment expertise of Nortel Networks to deliver next generation telephony solutions.
